I'm back and have some happenings to share.

I've emailed a guy about a 1985 325e with a 5-speed manual.

From the pictures and what the ad says, it seems to be a solid, well taken care of car. It's got a touch of rust here and there, which is totally fixable. Paint looks immaculate for the age of the car. The interior's pretty clean as well given the mileage.

And the best part? Only $1,800.

The ad's only been up for a day, so hopefully not too many people have inquired yet. And it being a "e" model might turn some away too (not me though.)

So yeah, if you need me, I'll be refreshing my inbox till the email pops up.

2. Glad to have you back...you're the first of many returners, no doubt.

3. I hope we can welcome you into the ranks of German car ownership soon. That is a nice little car. The only 3 things that would scare me away are the "e" part, the rust, and the mileage. If you're cool with all those things, I say go for it.

If you know what you are doing, the E isn't a bad thing. With a few parts swapped, you'll have basically a factory stroker motor.

Awesome! Looks like it would be an awesome car. Look up 327i if anyone tells you getting a 325e is stupid, because they are easily transformed into an uber-325i and have tons of torque stock.

Economy.

It's an economy version of the 2.5 I6, there's modifications done to it (including making it a 2.7L engine) that increase fuel economy and torque.

It makes 121 horsepower and 180 ft-lbs of torque.

1. I planned on staying out longer, but I came back this earlier out of habit (pretty depressing amirite?) and scrolled through a few pages and didn't see anything aggravating/dramatic, figured what the hell, I like the place too much. Good out weighed the bad, etc..

2. Probably.

3. The E actually gets a lot more torque over the I, so really in my everyday driving, it'd be better. The rust looks repairable. I've seen higher mileage cars go for more, these are pretty easy to keep going from what I hear.

This is kinda what doesn't scare me away from an e model. And it makes a really healthy amount of torque over the I, which is good for traffic driving.

The torque it makes really attracts me to the e models. And with a few mods it can be a pretty kick ass car.

redline in these is at like 5K man...
It's not THAT short, but it is very diesel-esque.
They don't make power over 4K
